Capitol Hill -The committees on Judiciary and Good Governance at the House of Representatives have submitted for passage into law the “Bill Prohibiting Tenure Positions within the Executive Branch” of the Liberian Government.
The committees recommended that with the exception of Central Bank of Liberia (CBL), General Auditing Commission (GAC), and National Elections Commissions (NEC), all other tenure positions should be cancelled.
It can be recalled that the President of the Republic of Liberia, His Excellency Pres. Dr. George Manneh Weah, recently proposed or submitted said bill to be enacted into law. It’s not clear why the president is so poised to cancel tenure positions, but we wait to see if the senate will concurred.
